Privacy Policy
What omygotti.com collects, why we collect it, who processes it, and the rights you have over your information.
Who we are
omygotti.com is the official website of OMYGOTTI, a Toronto hip-hop artist, and is operated by Famous Factory Inc., based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, who processes it for us, and the rights you have over it. The person accountable for privacy at Famous Factory Inc. is Kemeion Coutain. Questions about this policy or about your information can be sent any time to mgmnt@omygotti.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you join the fan list on this site, we collect your email address and, only if you choose to add it, your phone number for text alerts. When you email us, we receive whatever you include in that message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers record basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and the times of your visits. We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site: which pages get viewed, roughly where visitors are, and what devices they use. Analytics reports are statistical and are used to improve the site, not to identify individual visitors for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses a small number of cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies that help count visits and measure how the site is used. Under Google Consent Mode, analytics storage stays denied by default: Analytics cookies are only switched on if you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you decline, or never choose, your visit is counted only in the limited, cookieless way Consent Mode allows, and no Analytics cookies are stored by us. A cookie and a matching browser record also remember your banner choice itself, so the banner does not reappear on every visit. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, and the music and videos will still play.
Embedded players from other platforms (see the next section) may set their own cookies when you press play or interact with them. Those cookies are controlled by those platforms, under their own privacy policies.
Embedded media and links out
Pages on this site embed media hosted by other platforms, including YouTube videos, Spotify and Apple Music players, and Instagram posts. When you interact with an embedded player, that platform can collect information about you under its own privacy policy, the same way it would if you visited its site or app directly. This site also links out to streaming platforms, social profiles, and release pages served through DistroKid. Those destinations are run by other companies, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.
How we use information
We use the information described above to run the site: publishing music, videos, and updates; sending fan list emails and, where a number was provided, text alerts about new music and drops; answering messages sent to our inboxes; keeping the site secure; and meeting our legal and tax obligations as a Canadian business. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.
The fan list and messages from us
The fan list is opt-in: your email address is added only when you submit the signup form on this site. Messages go only to people who asked to hear from us, and our email practices follow Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future sends. If you added a phone number, text alerts may follow; reply STOP to end texts at any time. We never sell or rent the list.
Who processes information for us
A small number of service providers process information on our behalf, only so the site can run: Google (website analytics through Google Analytics 4), our website hosting provider, and the platforms whose players are embedded on the site when you choose to play their media (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Instagram). Each provider handles information under its own privacy policy and security practices. Beyond these providers, we share personal information only when the law requires it, for example under a valid court order.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for. Fan list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and operations, then deleted or overwritten in the normal course. Business records are kept as our records, including for tax purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it.
Your rights under PIPEDA
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to withdraw your consent to our use of it, and to ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep by law. To make a request, write to mgmnt@omygotti.com and we will respond as PIPEDA requires, normally within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site is a general-audience music website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at mgmnt@omygotti.com and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards for a site of our size, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and established providers for hosting and analytics. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect the information in our care and to limit what we collect in the first place.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and set a new effective date at the top. The version published here is the current one.
